Why should we outsource our billing?

By outsourcing your billing, you enable yourself and your staff to focus on what you do best—treat patients. You can forget about training and retraining staff. There’s no billing downtime or delays due to vacation or sick days. Billing-related telephone and postage costs are eliminated. And since outsourcing reduces your staffing needs, it reduces your practice’s payroll and cost of benefits.

Why should we choose EMBS?

At EMBS, we know how to get claims paid quickly and what to do when a problem arises. Our experienced staff monitors governmental and business practices to educate clients of any changes in reimbursement patterns. We stay abreast of governmental regulations as well as changes and challenges in the health care insurance industry through membership in trade associations and by attending seminars given by Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and other major insurers.

What services does EMBS provide?

EMBS offers a full range of patient accounting services, from posting and mailing bills to establishing efficient accounts receivable operations and providing clients with customized financial reports. We respond quickly to clients’ needs and inquiries, monitoring their accounts to identify opportunities for improvement. We can also review client fee schedules to ensure that they have kept pace with current standards and are, thereby, maximizing income. Click here for a complete list of our services.

What insurance companies does EMBS work with?

EMBS works with all major carriers, both private and public (including Medicare, Medicaid, and VA). If you require a comprehensive list, please e-mail us with that request.

Can EMBS process paper claims?

Yes, EMBS will identify any claims that cannot be filed electronically (because the carrier does not accept electronic claims or because the claim requires a nonelectronic attachment) and process such as paper claims.

Does EMBS answer patient inquiries about claims?

Absolutely. EMBS represents itself to your patients as your “Billing Department,” which is the most effective means of collecting fees and ensuring that billing inquiries are directed to us, your billing experts. You can rest assured that your patients will always be treated with courtesy, and that their privacy will be respected.

How does EMBS ensure patient privacy?

Everyone at EMBS has received HIPAA training. Accordingly, we protect and preserve the confidentiality of all patient billing and collections information.

Do we need to have any specific hardware or software to work with EMBS?

No, EMBS processes claims on our own computers, using our own software. Your office can continue to operate much as it did before, but with more efficiency and without the billing headaches.

How does our office provide information to EMBS?

You can send us information by e-mail, fax, regular mail, Federal Express, or UPS. Alternatively, for practices within the vicinity of Essex County, New Jersey, we can establish a pick-up and delivery schedule.

Can EMBS handle a practice with multiple providers?

Yes, we can set up a database that enters charges, tracks claims, and creates reports for each provider in your practice and for the practice as a whole.

Do insurance payments to our practice go through EMBS?

No, all payments are sent directly to you, just as if you were processing your own claims. Your office pays EMBS on a schedule determined at contract signing.

What are your rates?

Since our services are customized to fit the unique needs of each practice we represent, we can establish pricing only after learning more about your practice. Simply complete our Practice Analysis questionnaire, submit your answers, and we will provide price quotes within 48 hours.

How do we sign up?

Give us a call at (973) 821-3546, e-mail us, or complete our Practice Analysis questionnaire, and we will contact you to set up a meeting to outline procedures and exchange necessary information.
